You like leaving us hanging on the edge like that, don't you? Well, this is going to be driving me crazy for the next week. It's right up there with the time you had Lakash attack Arden in Nanuk's realm. I hope that you're enjoying yourself. Other than the suspenseful nonending, the chapter was quite good. I literally can't wait for the next one. I'm already loosing it wondering what's going to happen next. You sure are good at writing an unpredictable story. Keep it up, but the suspenseful chapter endings have to go. LOL j/k In all truthfulness, they make the story all the more interesting, but they're annoying just the same.

I was taught at a very young age that a "Space Opera" or, in this case, a "Fantasy Opera" should end with some sort of cliff hanger. The taller the cliff, the better. The trick is not to make the cliff so unbelievably high that you wouldn't be willing to kick your hero(ine) off the edge.

I've actually been working towards this point for some time. In the next chapter will come some interesting revelations that will help to make some earlier things click into place.

I'm not sure how many more chapters it will take before Arden and Sheila actually leave this world, but it shouldn't be too long now.

Cheers
Hikaru

Suspense is what makes it all fun.

Yes, suspense can be good in moderation. I have to admit that this is the most suspenseful online story that I've ever read. Keeps me coming back for more if you haven't noticed. Thanks for letting us know ahead of time that we're nearing the end of Arden and Sheila's journey in this world. I can only imagine what the next world will be like. I mean how can you top this world? I guess that we'll just have to wait and see.

You ought to try editing it! I won't let Hikaru give me any "advanced peeks" beyond the chapter itself; why spoil MY enjoyment of it! Usually a story is edited in one session, which helps the editor maintain a sense of continuity and focus. This project, however, is like a Chinese water torture---or in deference to Hiraru-san, a Japanese-style "exercise"! (heheh!!!)
