Note from Author. :)

Due to the very generous nature of a couple of special people, my latest chapter has been edited. Hooray, hope this helps those who had a bit of trouble with the first part. As I said I'm not a professional, I like to do this for fun. So it in turn leads to problems on the writing end.

So I would like to thank Mr. Mike Regan and Mr. David White for taking their time to help me make this a better story. :)

Thanks guys. :)

Chapter 9 Are we home yet?

"Here we are apartment 506." Zig Zag said. She put the key into the door and gave it a gentle push. The room smelt musty and definitely could use some fresh air. The apartment however was neat and tidy, not a thing out of place.
"Your Great Aunt really kept a neat home Margrette." Endora said, she turned to Margrette's Sabrina and asked, "Sabrina do you remember this place?" She thought it might stir up some memories
"No Miss Endora, not really." And it was perfectly true, she had never seen this place in her life.
"Just Endora Sabrina, remember you're family."
Sabrina just smiled, she was really going to have to tell them soon. At least Sabrina's real mother anyway, she couldn't keep going on like this. "Ok, Endora but nothing really rings any bells for me."
"That's ok it doesn't matter really anyway."
"Ok folks I see that you are all in and not stealing everything in sight. Endora can I see those papers you have for a moment." Zig said.
Endora handed over the papers she had to Zig Zag. She took out a pen a signed on the last page. "You can do what you want with the stuff now it's officially yours." She handed them back to Endora. "Now if you'll excuse me for awhile I'm off to look at some more of this place. I have some ideas I want to check out to see if it might be feasible."
"Sure Zig Zag and thanks for everything." Said Endora.
"No problem there, anything for my friends, TTFN." Zig waved as she left the group alone to begin their search for the missing will.
"Do you think the will is here Mother?" Said Sabrina she had never really seen this place. She had dropped Sabrina off several times but she had only seen the living room for all of ten minutes.
"Not sure dear but Margrette hopes it's either here or at a bank. We're looking for bankbooks or a box with papers in it. From the looks of the apartment Margrette's Great Aunt was really neat so I'll bet it's here in a box some place."
"I can see that this is nothing like my place." Sabrina said and everyone looked at her.
Endora smiled and thought to herself, "not by a long shot dear."

The search came to a stop when Kathren found the strong box. "I think I found something." She called out and everyone came to see.
"Looks like it Kathren, good work." Said Margrette.
"Not too good Margrette it's locked." She said with some disappointment.
"Well the key is probably here somewhere, has any one come across any keys?"
Nobody had and so they went back to looking, now for keys. Sabrina the witch thought it might be a good time for some magic. She was left in the room with Kathren but her back was turned so it wasn't a problem. She aimed her finger at the box and chanted softly. "Big old box long and strong show me where your key has gone." A mystical light erupted from her finger and launched itself at the strong box. Kathren couldn't see this magical energy for it was only viewable by witches or warlocks. It landed upon the strong box then it bounced from there to a music box that was on a dressing table. Sabrina went over and opened the box. At first she thought the box was empty but she found she could remove the liner inside the box. There she found a key. "Kathren, I've found a key, maybe this is the one." She handed the key to the large otter woman who put the key into the lock and turned it. The lock clicked and the box opened.
"Margrette we found the key!" Kathren shouted in a voice so strong it echoed through the small apartment. Everyone came running.
"Is the will there?" Said Margrette as she bounced into the room.
"One moment, I just got it opened." She rummaged through some papers and a bit of jewelry. Then she saw a paper folded over in a clear plastic bag. She handed it to Margrette. "Is this it?"
Margrette took the bag and examined the paper that was inside. "Yes! We found it!" At last things were going her way.

The ship had begun to list, at first it was not much but now the tilt could be felt and she began to fear. She knew that the back of the ship would be the last to hit the water. Staying out of the frigid sea water was something she wanted desperately. She kept on calling out to the witch Sabrina hoping in good faith that she would indeed return to save her. However the witch did not return either because of her rudeness or the fact that she couldn't. The walk to the stern of the ship had taken her quite awhile. Her arm ached and her head was spinning. Finally she made it and held onto its railing. She looked back to see the great ship out in front of her, waiting for its inevitable plunge to the bottom of the ocean. She looked behind her at the quiet sea and saw something that she really hadn't noticed before. It looked to be a swirling hole and not really that far away. As she stared it seemed somehow familiar. It was as if she belonged there and not here on the ship. It was a crazy thought but the swirling pattern became a focus point for her. She knew somehow that she had to get to that thing or she was not going to make it.

She began to think about how she could get off when there were no lifeboats. It was strange that a ship this size had none at all. Her strength gave way again and she collapsed upon the ships hard cold deck. As she lay there she came to the realization that this was all a horrible dream, a dream of her own making. How she was to wake from her own dream was something she did not know. But if this was her dream then she should have some control over it. It was as if things finally cleared for her, the haze was now lifted. She knew this was not reality and that she was trapped here but she wasn't helpless. She didn't know how she knew this nor did she really care, all she really wanted was out.

Things were pulled out of drawers and other things done. Bankbooks were found and put together for Christine to look at, financial stuff was going to be her department.
"Mom I have to find Zig Zag, I had forgotten how far the studio was from your house. I can't ask Cheetaur to walk that far, she'll be so tired she wouldn't wake up for a week. I want to see if she knows anyone with a truck."
"Ok, we won't leave till you meet up with us."
"Thanks I'll see you soon." Sabrina left the others to get things in order and to pack a few things. It took awhile to find Zig Zag but when she did she did a double take and turned her back quickly. Seems that Zig had decided to take a swim in the pool without any clothes on.
"Ahem!" Sabrina announced her presence to her employer.
"Hi Sabrina, come to join me?"
"Not really Zig. I just came to ask if you knew of anyone with a truck that could transport Cheetaur to my mothers house."
"Sure I do, me. Well sort of, we have one that we can call on once and awhile if we're going to do outside stuff. We need it for the equipment but it doesn't stay at the studio."
"Really! Any chance I could get them to pick up Cheetaur."
"I don't see why not, might make the drivers day. Call Erin and tell her, she knows the guys who have the van. She'll have them come and pick up Cheetaur."
"Great..ah is your phone anywhere handy?"
"My clothes are over there on one of the chairs, want me to get it for you?"
"No! No! You just stay swimming." It was one thing to see your boss naked in pictures but in real life that was something else.
Sabrina got Erin on the phone and she was happy to oblige. Cheetaur was still sleeping which was good. She had sounded like she needed some rest Sabrina thought. Then as she put the phone down a familiar scent filled her nostrils, wet fur. Zig had to be right behind her just waiting for her to turn around. However this wasn't going to happen. She just turned a bit and talked right at the pool. "Thanks for the use of the phone Zig, I'll be in touch." She left the poolroom not even looking back. If she had she would have seen the frown on Zig Zag's face.

Sabrina returned to the room but found it closed. So she headed for the lobby where she found the group talking. "Found her." She said briefly interrupting the group. "She's gonna get a truck for Cheetaur. Thanks Mom for letting her stay with you, she really had no where to go. The poor thing is a wreak with everything going on."
"It's fine dear you'll just have to help me move the dining room table into the living room to give her some space."
Kathren had overheard the conversation but was still a bit confused as to whom they were talking about. "Sabrina this Cheetaur friend of yours you just spoke about she doesn't happen to be a taur per se." Asked Kathren, secretly hoping inside that it was true.
"Yeah she's a Cheetah in taur form, extremely rare from what I hear."
A big smile came to Kathren's face. "And is she the spokes person for Cheetah-Paw Tires."
"Yeah, how did you know that?"
"Because she's a friend of mine from online." She couldn't believe her luck.
"Really!"
"Yeah didn't really think I'd ever get to meet her since she travels so much but seems like I'm going to now."
"Wow that's really neat you know talking to someone online and actually meeting them are extremely rare occurrences."
"I would suppose but you haven't got all of the facts yet." Sabrina was a bit awed that Cheetaur and Kathren actually knew each other. "The rare and exotic are mostly online creatures now. We use that to find each other. I for example am one of 107 female Giant Sea Otters in the entire world. There are 68 males for our entire species. I know of this from being online and I have spoken to many of the males actually. Most find me very intimidating, I can only wonder why that is." She gave a big grin." I also know a lot about Cheetaur. She is one of 46 Cheetah-taurs in the whole world male and female."
"Wow. She is rare and so are you. I'll bet your kind have lots of conventions."
"Actually no we are not allowed to, if there was ever a disaster we could wipe out an entire species. Only species above the 1000 population mark are allowed to have a convention. It makes sense, don't want to rid the world of little old me's." She laughed.

The conversations went on however there was one who didn't participate. Margrette watched her daughter just stare out the door to the outside ignoring the others completely. She decided it was time for a chat. She moved over beside her.
"Are you ok dear? I know this is a bit much for your first day out."
"It's not that, I just have something big to tell you. Something you really won't like."
"What is it dear? Are you all right we can take you back to the hospital?"
"No I'm ok maybe we can go outside away from the others. I think it's better that I tell you privately."
"Ok." Margrette was really worried now, maybe Sabrina remembered something about the accident. Maybe it was her fault and she feels guilty about her Great Aunt's death.

The day was beautiful, better than average, guess it was a good time to tell anyone some bad news Sabrina thought.
"Care to talk now." Margrette prodded.
Sabrina looked behind her and found that they were far enough away now to begin their conversation. "What I'm about to tell you is going to seem a bit far fetched but it's the honest truth. In fact I feel really bad about doing what I have done."
"Sabrina you haven't done anything. I love you, there is nothing to feel guilty about."
Sabrina didn't know how to say it, so it came out in one big blurb. "I'm not your daughter."
Margrette was shocked. "What? Sabrina yes you are. You're just a little confused, you had a terrible accident."
"No I'm not. I look like your daughter but I'm a witch from another world who's inhabiting your daughters body. I'm here by accident and since I'm new to this world it's taken me a long time to adjust to it. Please forgive me for my deception I did not like doing it but it was the only way I could see things working out for me."
Margrette was totally unprepared for this, she was going to have to take her back to the hospital. Her heart broke, she had thought that she was getting better but in fact she was a lot worse than she had ever imagined. "Honey it's ok, we'll get this all straightened out, but it looks like you may have to go back to the hospital for a little while."
"You don't believe me." Sabrina sighed. "I kinda thought so, guess I'm going to have to prove it to you." Sabrina took Margrette's hand and suddenly they were whisked into the air farther and farther until they were at cloud level. "I don't think your daughter ever learned to fly." Sabrina let go of Margrette's hand and they both just floated there in midair.
Margrette couldn't believe what was happening they were flying with the aid of nothing. "How?" Was all that was able to escape Margrette's lips as she looked at the ground far below.
"As I told you I'm a witch but I'm in trouble and I need help. Actually I think I'm going to need your help." She put emphasis on your.
"How can I help you? If you can do this you must be able to do anything!" Margrette exclaimed trying to remain as still as she could fearing she might fall to her death. She was at the mercy of this witch.
"Almost anything, I'm young and still inexperienced so I still need advice on many things. Like how can I get your daughter back to you."
Her fear of falling took a back seat as she now took on the reality that this thing was indeed a witch and not her loving daughter. "Where is my daughter?" She said in a very low and growling voice. One of a mother trying desperately now to get her daughter back.
Sabrina almost lost her concentration seeing the teeth barred and Margrette's fur all on edge.
"At the moment she is in a dream, seems I entered into that dream but came out here. It has been a very upsetting experience." She hoped that Margrette would understand that this was not what she wanted to happen.
"Bring my daughter back now!" Margrette was getting angrier and angrier, her teeth were fully exposed and Sabrina flew back a bit to get out of her reach.
"That's just it I can't, I have to go home and find out how."
"Then take me to her, now!" Margrette demanded, she was not going to let this witch have her way.
"Our presence here would be missed, tonight we can go." Sabrina was having a hard time trying to calm Margrette down. "I can provide an adequate masking spell to hide our absence."
Margrette wasn't at all happy with that solution but she had no choice. "Put us down..NOW! Whoever or whatever you are." Her fur was all on end and she was growling softly, which unnerved Sabrina.
"Sabrina is my name by coincidence I suppose." She put on a weak smile.
"Then put us down Sabrina and know this, if my little girl is harmed in any way you will regret ever having met me." Her face became a face of pure anger and it was not a pretty sight. She hoped to God that the great ship was still afloat.

It was all so clear to her now that this was all a dream, one of her own making. Now all it was doing was running its course. However she was stuck here with no way back. She did some thinking since this was her dream, she should be able to effect it somehow. She tried visualizing herself off the ship but that didn't work. Then something came to her and she focused her eyes on where a lifeboat should be. She concentrated hard on the area to try and place a boat there. To her surprise the cranes appeared that could lower the boat. Then the boat appeared, her heart raced she was saved. Then the world came crashing about her as the ship lurched forward and down. She slid across the wooden deck for a moment until the ship settled itself again. As she watched she saw her lifeboat gently swinging in the cold night air. She still had a big problem of how was she going to get into the boat. Then to lower it at the same time with her arm the way it was. Guess she was going to have to work on one problem at a time.

When Margrette returned to the group she was still really angry at this witch for deceiving her and not being very cooperative. Endora saw that her life time friend was angry, actually they all knew but they didn't know why. Endora thought it best to leave well enough alone for now.
Endora thought this might be a good time for everyone to leave. "All right everyone I think it's best we head back home, it's been a very busy morning and I bet we'll have to go out again soon. Sabrina I don't think there is room in our car for you as well." Actually she thought there was hardly any room for the 4 of them.
"I'll go find Zig and have her drop me off home."
"Ok we'll wait here to be sure you have a ride."
"No you go on I'll have no problems. If I have to call a cab it's not that far from here."
"Tell Zig Zag she is invited to lunch, won't be much but she is welcome to stay."
"Ok Mom I'll bet she will." With all these fantastic ladies around, I doubt she would miss it for the world Sabrina thought.

Sabrina found Zig just sitting at the edge of the pool. Her feet were dangling in the beautiful clear water. She was sitting in her underwear, wet as it was. But she also noted that she wasn't wearing a top either.
"Hi Zig." Sabrina said, trying not to startle her boss out of her wits.
"Oh hi." Said Zig.
It wasn't one of her more perky hellos and Sabrina felt something wasn't right. "Zig you ok?" She remained behind her employer just to remain calm.
"Do you like me?" Zig asked out of the blue, which was a question Sabrina wasn't really expecting.
"Of course I do." Sabrina said in a cheerful voice, trying to get her boss out of the slump that she had obviously put her in. She found it hard talking to her bosses back but she thought it best this way.
"You don't look at me very much. Most of the time I see that you intentionally avoid me. Take here for example, you hightailed it off as soon as you could not even looking my way."
"Zig you were naked!" Sabrina exclaimed.
"But you've seen me naked before."
"In pictures but that's not like in real life."
"So you're saying that you don't like me."
Oh boy Sabrina thought, she knew this was some sort of ploy but it was working to beat heck. "Zig I'm not saying that! It's just that I like to respect your privacy."
"But I don't mind you looking at me. You're my friend and friends trust each other."
Sabrina thought she better be honest with her because this might just happen again and she really didn't want that to happen. "Zig I respect you but you're my boss. I would just rather see you with some clothes on."
"So you do like me."
"Yes, more so with clothes on."
"Alright point taken, since you came looking for me is there something wrong."
"No. I just need a lift to my Mom's house they're leaving. I think something happened with Margrette plus she has to make some phone calls and arrangements."
"That I can do, oh you may want to turn your back I don't have a top on."
Sabrina turned and thought, at least that went well.
