Chris had phoned his employer earlier that morning and told him he wouldn't be in today. He was going to spend the day with Sabrina. Although he didn't exactly tell his boss that. He went down to the local convenience store and picked up the local paper. He thought maybe later he and Sabrina could catch a show or something. Maybe Amy and Thomas could tag along too. It would take Sabrina's mind off her sister for a night anyway. It always paid to be prepared. When he got back he set himself down to read his paper. He didn't get too far when he spied the ad. "She's coming here.......woo hoo!" He cried out loud, enough so as to bring Sabrina in to investigate. "Who's coming here?" Said Sabrina with interest. Chris became suddenly embarrassed by the whole thing and said. "Ah, no one hun." Now Sabrina became very suspicious. "All right you better tell me who or you won't see me tonight at all." She knew he was hiding something. He had to relent, darn. I had to go and open my mouth Chris thought. "Her name is Cheetaur." He said with a bit of reluctance to his voice. "Ok, so!" "You haven't heard of her?" He was surprised somewhat that she hadn't seen the TV commercials. "Should I have, I take it she is someone famous." "In her own way I guess, she's not a movie star like Zig Zag but she is famous." "And she's coming here." "Yeah if I read the ad correctly she should be in your mall here late this afternoon." "Is there a picture of her in the paper?" Her curiosity was getting the best of her now. "Yup, gonna have to cut this one out. And put it up on the bulletin board at work, the guys will want to see it." Chris felt more relaxed now knowing Sabrina was on to his little fantasy girl. Seeing Chris this excited surprised Sabrina, she hadn't seen him like this about another woman before. "Let me see it." Chris handed her the paper and she turned to the page he said it was on. There in black in white was the woman Chris was making a fuss over. "Chris she's a TAUR!" Sabrina exclaimed. "Yeah isn't that cool." "I'm not so sure, having four feet must be extremely awkward." She made a mental image of herself as taur and quickly dismissed that idea. She studied the Cheetah-taur woman and in many ways she could see why Chris liked her. The watermelons on her chest were probably a good pick. "So you want go see her I take it?" She knew the answer without even asking. "If you want to go." "Chris, I won't deny you your fun, besides it will give me a chance to look for a few things." She could just see the look of joy on his face and that made her happy. Everyone has his or her fantasies it's rare that you get to experience them for real. "All right! Thanks, I can't wait to tell the guys at work, woo hoo! Maybe she'll have her new calendar there, Ed has been looking for it." "Ed?" "Just a guy at work, he's a big fan of hers and he has actually met her. He said she was really nice and down to earth." "That's good to hear." She gave him back his paper to let him drool a little more. It would be interesting to actually see her anyway, Taurs were extremely rare creatures. Their size and awkwardness made them outcasts even worse than the handicapped. She had never ever seen one herself. She wondered if Skunktaur's did exist but she didn't really know. Then an idea popped into her head, she wondered if this Cheetaur had a website! She quickly went to her room and fired up her Amiga. Sabrina Spellman hurried down the stairs and into the kitchen, hoping to find her Aunts there. She was in luck, both were there scolding Salem the cat as usual, he seemed to always get himself into the worst trouble. Salem never had let his ambition to rule the world go. So it almost seemed that he was destined to be a cat forever. Seems it was a suitable punishment for him. "Oh Sabrina you're back, how did things go?" Asked Zelda. "You're not going to believe this!" Sabrina said puffing. "Try us we've seen almost everything." Said Hilda. "How about a walking and talking anthropomorphic skunk!" "Now that I haven't seen." Zelda said. "Me either. You weren't hallucinating were you?" Asked Hilda. "Check her out for yourself." Sabrina pointed her finger and in front of both Hilda and Zelda an image of Sabrina skunk formed. "There see!" Hilda and Zelda both stared at the creature before them. "Um she looks interesting you're right I have never seen anything like her before." Said Hilda not really knowing what to say. "I take it you solved her problem." Said Zelda still staring at the image. Sabrina sat down at the kitchen table in a slump. "No! This Skunk girl, whose name just happens to be Sabrina, thinks I'm an ugly hairless ape, who just happens to be a witch. Plus the fact that she thinks I work for Satan. It's just been a peachy day." "Well I guess we would look rather strange to someone who has fur. All mortals who don't know us think we work for Satan, I think it's some sort of curse." Said Zelda. "So she's still in trouble then?" "From what I saw, I don't think she's in trouble, at least not for the moment. She at least doesn't think so and she made that perfectly clear." "Well come on spill." Said Aunt Hilda knowing full well that Zelda was about to say the same thing, only a little different. Sabrina conjured the crystal ball from her bedroom and proceeded to show her Aunts. All the while telling them of her adventure there and how this other Sabrina rejected her help. "Sounds like you do have a problem, and this Sabrina skunk is definitely in trouble, from what you described I believe she is in a dream." A dream, now that's something I can handle Sabrina thought. "That's good all I got to do is wake her up!" "No Sabrina you're forgetting it could be some other person's dream that has her trapped there." Aunt Zelda went over Sabrina's story in her mind and something occurred to her. "Sabrina you said there is something far behind the ship." "Yeah you can hardly make it out but if you look closely." She pointed to the spot on the ball and they all looked carefully at what Sabrina had found. "You found a nexus!" Aunt Zelda exclaimed. "A what?" Sabrina said. "A nexus is where dream and reality join, sometimes they are very hard to locate and many souls are lost because they cannot find their way back." "So I've got to get her through this nexus." Sabrina thought, now this is going to be easy. "Maybe, you should go through it yourself to see if it leads to somewhere she should be going. They can be misleading." Aunt Hilda said. "I remember when Zelda…" "Oh no you don't!" Suddenly tape appeared covering Aunt Hilda's mouth. Sabrina giggled. "Ok, I'll go back and follow the nexus back to where it leads, maybe then I'll get some answers." Suddenly she was gone, with the prayers of her Aunts guiding her. Traffic was really heavy for Friday afternoon, Sabrina thought. At least it wouldn't be long before they got to the mall, although they were really early for Cheetaur's appearance. Chris wanted a good standing position to see her, she smiled to herself. She was pleased to see him so happy, who was she to argue with that. She couldn't blame him, if Leonard Decaprofox was in town she would want to go and see him, so turnabout was fair play. It was just then a pickup truck quickly changed lanes in front of them, dislodging a large ladder that was in the back. "LOOK OUT!" Chris screamed, but it was way too late. The ladder hit the front of the car imbedding itself in the grill. Sabrina screamed as she slammed on the brakes, unaware of the bus behind her, whose brakes now were also on full. The ladder dug into the asphalt and drove it through the hood and partially into the windshield bringing the car to an abrupt halt. It was only luck that it didn't kill them both. However the danger wasn't over, it was only seconds after hitting the ladder that they got rear ended by the bus. The bus didn't hit them all that hard but it did push them further down the road. The impact blew out the back window, and totally destroyed the rear end of Sabrina's small car. Finally everything came to a sudden stop. Sabrina's first thoughts were of Chris and she turned to look at him. His fur was on end but other than that he looked ok. "Chris are you ok?" She asked frantically. The inside of the car was covered in small shards of glass. He rubbed his head and neck to see if everything was still attached. "Just shook up, you?" "I feel ok." She checked herself over and found nothing out of place. " But look at my car it's totaled. Don't move too much the car is covered in glass." "I see." Chris gently brushed off what he could see that was laying on him. "Are you sure you're ok, kitten." He was being sympathetic and she liked that. "I'm ok just shaken." Sabrina looked behind her in the askew mirror and saw the crinkled front end of the bus that had added to the disaster. The ladder damage may have been fixable but with the bus additions it was a write off. It was time to get out of this deathtrap she thought and tried her door. She found it opened easily but the one on Chris's side wouldn't budge. He had to crawl across the seats and out her side. Even before Chris got out they heard a voice. "Are you alright, oh my!" Said a very heavy male hedgehog, old as well from what Sabrina could tell. "We're ok, I think." She couldn't feel anything wrong with herself. Maybe some sore muscles but nothing chopped off or bleeding. What about yourself?" Sabrina said. The old Hedgehog was amazed at how calm this woman was and her concern of his safety. "I'm fine my dear, I'm terribly sorry about your vehicle miss." Sabrina was about to reply but she became speechless, for what she saw coming out of the bus was something she had never seen before. It was huge, muscular and very unkempt at this point. Seems it must have been thrown around during the incident. It had to be at least 7 to 8 feet in height and with its large body following its torso made it look awe inspiring. She recognized it the minute it had stepped off the bus, it was Cheetaur live and in person. She looked at Chris who looked to be almost stunned. Cheetaur moved gracefully, considering her massive size and approached them. All the while trying to pat down her fur. "Are you two ok? That was one nasty accident. It's going to take me forever to get myself back to rights. I think I pulled something." She said as she rubbed her back straining the poor T-shirt she had on. Chris tried to say something but it came out mostly incoherent. Sabrina sighed. "We're fine Miss Cheetaur, please excuse my fiancé he is a big fan of yours. Seems seeing you in person has somehow short circuited his brain." She gave him a poke but it didn't seem to do any good. Cheetaur came in closer and Sabrina felt a bit intimidated by her size. "I get that a lot Miss..." She said as she put out her paw in greeting. Sabrina shook her paw. "I'm Sabrina and this is fiancé Chris." "Well Sabrina it's nice to meet you and your fiancé. Please come back to the bus and wait for the police to arrive, it seems we are drawing quite a crowd here. I don't want to be the cause of another accident." Sabrina watched as the cars drove slowly past them honking and shouting crude remarks at Cheetaur. They took her advice and moved into the bus to await the authorities. She looked back at her poor car, knowing that it wouldn't be going anywhere soon. It looked like it had gotten into a fight with a trash compactor and lost. The radio wasn't the most expensive one but it did come with headphones, which was a bonus. They put the CD in the machine and put the earphones on Sabrina's head. Then they relaxed for a few minutes, hoping for a miracle. But nothing really came of it. They looked at the monitors to see if anything changed but nothing had. Margrette sighed and prayed a bit more. "It may take awhile love." Said Kathren as she rubbed Margrette's shoulders. "I know I was just hoping for too much I guess." She felt comfortable in Kathren's hands. She felt some of the tension flow out of her body as Kathren massaged her aching muscles. "We all were Margrette." Said Endora as she smiled back at her friend. "It'll work we just have to give it time." She had hoped as well that the effect would almost be instantaneous but as with real life things they don't always go as planned. Endora decided to try and change the subject. "It was funny to see Zig Zag at the apartment site wasn't it." "Yeah it was, small world we live in." Said Kathren. "Speak for yourself, we all can't lift a Buick you know." Endora put on a big smile as she said it. And for the first time in awhile Margrette gave a good old-fashioned laugh. It made her feel good inside, maybe things were not completely hopeless. "How late do you want to stay Margrette?" Endora wasn't sure what Margrette wanted to do. "I want so much to stay but I need to get a call to Frank and see if I can get that Lawyer friend of his to call Christine. Then we can get access to the apartment. Could we come back tonight Endora? I see its getting late and almost time for dinner." "Sure Margrette it's not a problem." She took her friends paw and gave it a gentle rub. Margrette smiled it was good to have friends like Endora at times like these, it somehow made it bearable. Suddenly Margrette's eyes caught movement and she watched as Sabrina's hands began to move up to her eyes to gently rub them. "Sabrina!" She exclaimed! She jumped out of her chair and out of Kathren's hands. She hugged her daughter with a love that came from so deep within her that it could be felt in the room. With tears streaming down her face she knew her daughter had finally returned to her. Sabrina returned to the ocean dreamscape where Sabrina skunk was. She floated just above the ocean's surface and watched the Titanic pass her. It was a most incredible sight. However the ship was not her intended destination, the nexus was her next stop. Getting to it was not as easy as she thought it would be, it was a struggle just to gain inches as she approached its center. As she watched the swirling mass the whole world let go and she was pulled into oblivion. Darkness surrounded her everywhere and music filled her head. It was very beautiful music and in a way she could almost follow it, so she did. Suddenly the world lit up and she could see again but what she saw was something she wasn't expecting. She moved her furry hands to rub her eyes, oh oh..furry hands she thought. This wasn't right, suddenly she was being hugged by a big female Skunk. One that she had seen just moments ago, along with another skunk and a giant otter thing. What the heck was happening here? Her thoughts were all muddled, her body hurt all over and it was hard to move. This large female skunk was smothering her. The large female skunk had tears running down its face and the strange music was still playing in her ears. She couldn't understand why this creature was hurting her. All these things were so confusing, so she did the only thing she thought she could do and that was to scream. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Her screaming drove the female skunk creature away from her and brought other frightening animals scurrying into her room. She kept on screaming trying to get the music out of her head and to vanquish all these strange images. More furry things began pawing at her as she thrashed about trying to push them away, all the while screaming her lungs out. Suddenly she felt a calm peace overwhelm her and she had no more strength to fight. The room began to spin and as quickly as the room came into view it disappeared into darkness once again. Margrette was hysterical and Endora tried to calm her down. "Margrette please try to calm down." "My Baby! What are they doing to my baby?" She was crying and struggling trying to get at Sabrina. "The doctors are trying to help her." "She's frightened, she needs her mother." She still was trying to reach Sabrina and Endora was having a hard time holding onto her, thankfully Kathren stepped in and helped as well. "It's ok love, she's just disorientated. Remember she was hit by a car, it's probably the last thing she remembers." "She needs me." Margrette's voice was now hoarse and she was still struggling. "I know Margrette but you have to let the doctors work or she'll never get better." Endora felt her give up and they led her back to one of the chairs in the room. It wasn't very long before a doctor came to speak with them. "Well that was a good sign." He said cheerfully although he was panting to beat all. "Is it really!" Said Margrette with concern. "Mrs. Johnston it's a natural reaction, in some cases it's not as dramatic but like Sabrina, coma patients do awake violently. It's a good sign, we have sedated her lightly she should awaken again in a few hours. We'll see if she is a little calmer then." He took Magrette's paw. "The waiting is over Mrs. Johnson she is on the road to recovery now all it will take is time." He was still breathing hard and his breath smelt bad but she didn't care, he had just told her Sabrina was going to be all right. "Well this is Ironic." Said Sabrina, she had taken a brush and started to help Cheetaur groom herself. She was a total mess, in fact she looked like a Chiapet. "How so?" Said Cheetaur. "We were on our way to see you." Sabrina noted that her fur was very knotty on her lower half. It looked as if Cheetaur had been neglecting to brush herself. Which is unheard of from most females. Males yes, females no. She wondered if she could reach back this far. "Really, no kidding." "Nope, Chris here wanted to get your autograph so I thought we would go in early to try and beat the crowd." Sabrina looked around for another brush, the one she had was useless with all the knots. She happened to find and giant comb that was much better suited to taking out the nasty knots. "Well Chris, it's nice to meet such a good fan." She gave him a wink. Chris had finally let his hormones die down, however his tongue still was slipping up. "Nice to see them as well." He regretted saying it the moment it came out of his mouth. So much so that he put his hands up and covered his muzzle. OH God! He thought I've done it now. "Chris!" Sabrina said, giving him a good jab to ribs with the comb. "Sorry Miss Cheetaur." Chris said giving his poor ribs a rub. "Just Cheetaur, and Chris don't worry yourself about it. Actually that's about the most common response I get. I can't blame you, they do look like watermelons don't they." She gave her tits a big squeeze that Sabrina tried to ignore but really couldn't. She was showing off some and well Chris was right into it. If she was in a different situation she might have said something but since she was being hospitable and not too far out of line she left well alone. "I'm sorry about your car Sabrina, it looks like a write off." "Yeah it does, doesn't it." She could see her small car through the front windshield and sighed. "I liked that little car too." "What happened? I can't see from here." Cheetaur said. "A ladder fell off a truck and we collided with it, then it plowed into the ground and stopped us. That's when your bus hit us and pushed us down the road for a spell." "Really sorry about that, he's one of the best drivers I've had. There was probably no way for him to have stopped." "I can understand, it isn't easy to stop something of this size." Said Chris, it seemed to Sabrina that Chris had now finally come down from cloud 87 and was within reach of earth. "Has anyone phoned the police?" It was a good question and Sabrina was amazed that Chris was able to think about that. Since his mind had been so preoccupied on a pair of other things. The bus driver answered Chris's question. "Yes sir the authorities have been notified and will arrive soon, I was told." "Good work Jeffery." Cheetaur said. "It's good to see someone is on the ball, I certainly wasn't. Boy it sure was a quick way of waking up that's for sure." "You were asleep?" Sabrina inquired. "Guess that explains why your fur is in such a mess." "My fur, oh its been a mess for ages." At that statement Sabrina found that Cheetaur seemed a bit embarrassed and uneasy." "Oh Sorry Cheetaur I didn't mean..." She didn't get to finish her sentence. "It's ok Sabrina but it's a bit hard for me to get back there and my employer set our budget for my trip to Zero. The girl that regularly does my fur was cut. So this bus trip has been extremely long, without anyone to talk with. I was just wondering how I was going to make it through this presentation. We've been on the road for almost Fourteen hours now." "Fourteen hours!" "Yeah, I'm bushed and I feel rotten. Don't worry about my fur Sabrina, just stop it's probably a horrible mess of tangles. Probably have to be shaved off. Now it looks like I will have to stay another day at least." She sighed a heavy sigh and Sabrina felt sorry for her. "It's ok Cheetaur, I can do a bit with it but as you said some of it will have to be cut." "Thanks Sabrina. Jeffery could you call the head office to see what they want us to do? I know they're not going to be pleased at this, that's for sure." "Yes Madam." He took a cellular phone out of a bag and began to dial. "Jeffery is the best chauffeur I've ever had, my last one was an idiot and almost got me killed." "Really! Sorry to hear that." As Sabrina said that she heard the wails of sirens and knew that the authorities had arrived. Sabrina awoke again, this time a little more in control of herself. Before, everything was a jumbled mess with things closing in on her and she panicked. Now it was quiet, the music had stopped and she felt someone holding onto her right hand. She was also very aware of the situation she was now in. She understood where Sabrina Skunk was and the danger she was in. Also the fact she had increased the jeopardy by entering the nexus. It had literally put her in Sabrina's body. This wasn't good and at the moment she had no idea how she was going to fix it. Or even if it could be fixed. She tried very hard not to move. To just study where she was. It was apparent that she was in a hospital room. The creature now holding her hand and literally asleep had to be Sabrina's mother. It was an assumption but a good one, who else would be here holding her hand. Plus she was also a skunk as well so it was a good bet. It must have been an awful shock to her to see her daughter screaming. She would have to apologize for that. She was able to turn her head to see that it was dark outside. Probably late but she would have to wake this person. Then Sabrina began to wonder, what was she going to tell her? Should she tell her who she was or just ride it out pretending that she was Sabrina? Hmmmmm she thought about this for a long while, she didn't want to deceive Sabrina's mother but would she really believe that she wasn't her daughter? Telling her that she was a witch wasn't going to make things any better she thought. She made her choice and would let the chips fall where they may. She squeezed the Skunk woman's hand and gently tried to wake her. "Huh!" Came the reply as the large female skunk came back to life. Sabrina could hardly believe the muscles on this woman, she was into the fitness craze for sure but still came across looking feminine. "Honey you're awake!" Immediately she began to cry. "Please don't cry, I'm ok." "You had us all so worried." Sabrina's mother ran her fingers through her daughter's hair. "Why?" "You were involved in an accident, sweetie." "I was?" She put a confused look on her face, it really wasn't that hard to do. Due to the fact she knew nothing of Sabrina's life here. "So I was hurt?" Posing it more as a question. "Yes but you're getting better now." Margrette smiled and she was glad to be talking to her little girl again. "And I would be?" Margrette was taken aback by this revelation. She hadn't given too much thought that Sabrina might have some problems with her memory. She had to act calmly and talk to her normally, as not to alert her that something might not be right. It might upset her and cause more of a problem. She saw the buzzer and without pausing pushed it. "Your name is Sabrina and I'm your mother. You have had a very nasty accident. I think it best that you rest quietly, a nurse will be coming in just a few minutes to make sure you are ok." "That sounds good, mother." Happy to know that she had guessed right. Sabrina relaxed and thought that it was best for now to act as if she had amnesia. No need upsetting her tonight with fantastic tales when she looked so tired. Although it might be a good idea to find out how long she or Sabrina had been here. "How long have I been here? I don't remember too much." That really wasn't too far from the truth. Margrette thought to herself that maybe it wouldn't be such a good idea to tell her the whole truth. "A little while dear, but don't worry about that you concentrate on getting better." Well that didn't work, Sabrina sighed. It looks like she wasn't going to get too far with information tonight. Now that she was sort of trapped here by mistake she thought about how she was going to get out of this place and this body. As she lay there new sensations began to emerge. The smells were the first, she couldn't believe how sensitive her nose was. It tingled with every new scent and she marveled over its splendor. The second thing that she became aware of was she was lying on her tail. This was going to take some getting used to, she thought. Just then the nurse came strolling in, it was show time. |
