Rogue Rover: Chapter 2
The door swings open and Tabitha comes running through, “Yaaaaaaay!” she yells with delight. Sabrina comes in and shuts the door behind her thinking, Jeez, doesn’t she ever run out of energy? She sets her keys on the counter and sits in the chair by the dinner table. Amy calls out to Sabrina, “You home, Sabrina?”
“No, the door just flew open and it shouted.”
Amy laughs sarcastically and says, “Very funny. You’re a real comedian.”
“I’m glad you think so. Did anybody call for me while I was gone?”
“Nope, not a word.”
Suddenly she hears a male voice say “Hi, sweets!” Sabrina turns around to find Chris Foxx just coming from the kitchen. “Chris! When did you get home?”
“A quarter before you got home.”
“Oh” she walks up to him and gives him a warm hug and a very welcoming kiss, lip to lip. “And you’re not going to ask me ‘how did your day go’?”
“Amy told me all about it. Sounds like you could hit the sack for the day.”
“Yeah, I really could.”
“Tell me about it, a lot of people have trying to get to you by telling me that they love you via email.”
“I can’t believe how imprudent they are.”
“When will they learn that you already have a lover? ”
“You forgot to mention a lover that works indolently for me.”
“Hey! I’m not lazy!”
“I swear, nobody around here has a sense of humor. And Zig Zag tells me to loosen up.”
Chris grins at her and says, “That’s because every time you’re precariously around her she has to kiss, lick, or do something deplorable to you, leading you have to overreact.”
“Well, wouldn’t you if she was seducing you like that?”
“Uh, that’s a different a story.”
Sabrina, a little annoyed and solicitous by the comment and raises her left eyebrow with an angry look on her face then says, “What’s that suppose to mean?”
“And you thought I didn’t have a sense of humor.”
“Just don’t show that sense of humor again.”
Chris looks out the window and notices that it’s already getting dark. He looks at Sabrina and says, “My, how time does fly.” Sabrina looks out the window and says to Chris “ you’re not kidding.”
“Want to see how funny I can be?”
Amy, feeling a scruple and realizing what’s going on between the couple, looks over at Tabitha and says “Er, Tabitha, why don’t you hop up in bed?” Tabitha looks at Amy then says “Okay!” she runs to the couch and slides under the covers. Then, Amy looks back at couple and says, “Ahem! Shouldn’t you two be doing the same?”
Suddenly both Chris and Sabrina look at Amy nervously. Sabrina, blushed red like a cherry, says, “Whoops! I guess we disarmed our selves too much.”
Chris takes her by the hand, begins her walking to their bedroom and says, “Come on. We’ve embarrassed ourselves enough out here.”
Right before Sabrina fully makes it through the door, she grabs hold of the knob and pulls it shut after her tail gets through the doorway and giggles.
Meanwhile, at the bedroom of an EMAX, David sits on his bed thinking about what’s going to happen to him. I can’t believe it! First it was the husband and wife, now this. Why don’t they trust me? I never went insane. I never needed an opiate to be palpable, aside from having the neurotransmitter in me. I just don’t get it, after all I done for them. Just then, the doors to the appearance of Cathy and she says, “C’mon, David. Let’s go.”
“What’s going on?”
“We’re getting you out of here. You don’t deserve to die.”
“Where’s Dr. Puma at? Does he know about this?”
Dr. Puma peeks his head in and says, “Yes I do, now hurry up.”
David gets up and rushes out the door with them. Just as they’re running, David asks them, “Don’t we need an amnesty for this?”
Cathy responds in an angry voice “ We don’t need a freaking pardon!”
They arrive at the garage where there are three assault tanks and four jeeps. Suddenly a guard shouts at them, “Hey, stop! What do you think you’re doing?!” right before Dr. Puma gets into a jeep, he says, “Leaving! Now come on you two!” David and Cathy rush to the jeep and get in but not before the guard can contact Commander Didelphidae on his Comm. Link.
“Sir? Commander?”
Didelphidae responds, “What is it?”
“Sir, we have a problem. Cathy and the doctor have gone A.W.A.L and they’re leaving with the EMAX, I repeat they’ve gone A.W.A.L and they’re leaving with David!”
“Stop them! Don’t let them leave!”
Just as they leave, the guards at the gate begin to open fire. Thanks to Dr. Puma’s Driving skills, they manage to evade the barrage of gunfire. Right when they make a left turn, David notices that in the back of the jeep is a supply of weapons, “They sure know how to pack, don’t they?’ he says as he picks up an M-16 machine gun and begins to return fire at the guards. He takes out one of the guards while the other takes cover behind a jeep.
At that second, they crash through the gate with gunfire following up behind them. Right after they stop firing, Commander Didelphidae shouts on the loud speakers, “Everyone! This is a code red situation! David has gone rogue and he’s a first class threat! Go after them and do whatever it take to take them down!” With that in mind, the soldiers get in their vehicles and the chase is on.
